"WARFARE THEOLOGY
AND THE COMING 4TH REICH" (Dec. 2003)
Comparing America
to the 3rd Reich seems to be becoming a pastime in America today. Why is that?
What is it about America's New World Order, and its War on Terror, that reminds
us of Germany in the 1930s? George w Bush, with support from the religious
right, and the christian coalition, are waging a war. How did all this
begin? What is the fuel for this new surge of military might? Where did this new
"Warfare Theology" come from? Let's take a look at how these
conditions come about...
THE SYMPTOMS
We live in troubled times no doubt, the world is full of
hostile, and even evil people. As Christians, we have for 20 centuries now, had
to deal with all manner of evil as it seems to freely move about in our lives,
our countries, and even our churches. We are reminded of the words of the
Prophet who said...
(Jeremiah 12: 1) Righteous
art thou, O LORD, when I plead with thee: yet let me talk with thee of thy
judgments: Wherefore doth the way of the wicked prosper? wherefore are all they
happy that deal very treacherously?
It seems that in our world, those who steal, presume, extort,
intimidate, lie, kill, and ignore the commands of our God, are rewarded with all
manner of positive reinforcement for their deeds. This constant borage of
inequity eats away at the Christian, who has adopted an attitude of justice,
love, truth, obedience to God, and to shun evil practices that we know displease
God. In a society that professes a form of Godliness, this constant injustice
can brew for decades in the subconscious of the people and brew a strong sense
of injustice and anger. A people can become so disillusioned with the world
around them, that even without consciously deciding to do so, a spirit of
indignation can build toward the world around them. They can begin to adopt an
attitude of spiritual, and intellectual superiority towards others who are not
"of their camp", or of their society. Although that attitude starts
out from a holy standard that exists in the hearts of said people, it can become
much more than that... much, much more.
The setting is Europe, 1920s and 1930s. the proliferation of
all types of lewd, and sexually explicit behavior is running rampant in the
streets of France, Germany, Belgium, England, and most of the current European
Union countries. Even the theaters, where people liked to go and escape from
their daily routines, were becoming inundated with this kind of activity. The
book stores were full of it, the advertising media glorified these indulgences
with great pride and wonder. The Christian population of Europe felt a hopeless
sense of darkness beginning to enshroud their lives, starting as always, with
their entertainment. Homosexuality, polygamy, incest, murder, lewdness, public
displays of sexuality, pornography. This perceived threat to the way of life of
the European Christian began to work its way into their laws, acquiring
protections, rights to exist, and freely promote itself. It smoldered in their
hearts, brought fear into the minds and hearts of the people, a sense of being
besieged by a force, fast becoming too great to reckon with, DESPERATION! Add to
that the financial struggles of the common man of the time, the hopelessness of
no long term employment, and the stage is set for a knight in shinning armor to
come along and lead the people out of a "dark age" of immorality,
poverty, and moral decay.
Reference, Germany. (a people who were more than 75%
Catholic/Christian in 1927, according to historians). A militant
"pro-active" desire to change the world around them... no, to SAVE the
world around them, had been fostered by the trends of society for more than a
decade. The average German man got up in the morning, and went out to stand in
what they called "Queues", waiting to be picked by a contractor for
work on a day by day basis. No long term stability existed for these men, every
day began with the search for a job, if you didn't work, you didn't eat...
period. I cannot, as a 21st century American, imagine the emotional state of
such men... or can I? As we all know, a man did come along, who seemed to fit
the description of a remedy for the things that ailed the German population. His
name was Adolph Hitler. I remember going to school and learning about the
history of these events. I remember the focus always being on what a hideous
tyrant Hitler had become, and the atrocities that his administration committed.
But after taking a closer look, now that I am an adult, I have seen a different
picture. First of all, if anyone thinks that Adolph Hitler came to power without
the approval of the German people, by some magical or mysterious force that
propelled him to power without the consent of the German population, they are
sadly mistaken. So how could such a man, such an obviously evil dictator be
given the blessing of a population of over 75% Christians? Here are some Quotes
from some of Hitler's speeches and writings, ranging from 1919 through his fall
to the Allies...
"I am now as before a Catholic and will always remain
so"
[Adolph Hitler, to Gen. Gerhard Engel, 1941]
"I believe today that my conduct is in accordance
with the will of the Almighty Creator."
[Adolph Hitler, Mein Kampf, p. 46]
"And if there is anything which could demonstrate
that we are acting rightly, it is the distress which daily grows. For as a
Christian I have also a duty to my own people. And when I look on my people
I see it work and work and toil and labor, and at the end of the week it
has only for its wage wretchedness and misery. When I go out in the morning
and see these men standing in their queues and look into their pinched
faces, then I believe I would be no Christian, but a very devil, if I felt no
pity for them, if I did not, as did our Lord two thousand years ago, turn
against those by whom today this poor people is plundered and exploited."
[Adolph Hitler, Speech in Munich 4/12/22]
"Parallel to the training of the body a struggle
against the poisoning of the soul must begin. Our whole public life today is
like a hothouse for sexual ideas and simulations. Just look at the bill of fare
served up in our movies, vaudeville and theaters, and you will hardly be able to
deny that this is not the right kind of food, particularly for the
youth...Theater, art, literature, cinema, press, posters, and window displays
must be cleansed of all manifestations of our rotting world and placed in the
service of a moral, political, and cultural ideal."
[Adolph Hitler, Mein Kampf, Vol. 1, Chapter 10, ]
Adolph Hitler came to power in Germany, with the blessing of
the German people, because he professed Christianity. Make no bones about it,
this man told the German people for a long time, that he was sent by God, to
free them from the very things we discussed earlier in this article. A society
of right thinking Christians, who genuinely cared for the will of their God
being carried out in their society, supported what turned out to be one of the
most brutal regimes in the history of the world. How does this happen? Certainly
God would not allow such a terrible thing to arise from a Christian nation,
filled with God fearing people, looking for a leader/administration to deal with
the concerns of those God fearing people? His platform, as it were, was not
about the Jews, which is all we now remember, it was in fact about the suffering
of the common German, and the Immorality of the day. He was surrounded by a
"Myth" with the people, that he came from "supernatural"
origins. This myth was considered very troublesome with the allies, and because
of it decisions were made not to assassinate him as he would have become even
more mystical in the eyes of the German people. The history we hear about, is
about what his platform had become, not what it started out to be. I think it is
important, in examining the events of our time, to consider this piece of
history in a more complete fashion, in order to both understand certain dangers,
and to avoid the mistakes of the past. Who was it that said, "History
repeats itself."? It was Mark Twain...
"It is not worthwhile to try to keep history
from
repeating itself, for man's character will always make the preventing of
the repetitions impossible."
[Mark Twain in Eruption]
I wish to accomplish in the reader this exact goal in looking
back at an event in history that has, in my view, a lot of forgotten, unknown,
and meaningful lessons. The religious right, the christian coalition, and those
who subscribe to this New World Order mentality, Christian supporters of the War
on Terror, and this wave of Warfare theology, had better lend an ear...
It wasn't until well into Hitler's rule that people in
Germany began to act on their regrets, that they realized that they had
"created a monster" so to speak, and by then it was too late. In spite
of a meager outcry when he was elected, that disputed the legitimacy of his
victory, he had become an extremely popular leader. People in Germany that
disagreed openly with the actions of the state were made a public spectacle,
they were labeled as unpatriotic, they were brutalized, demoralized, and counted
among the Jews in the camps of death. The rest, as they say, is history. How
could a society with an almost unanimous Christian population produce such a
vile and despicable government? Lets take a look at the ingredients that made up
this progression of events...
1. A strong influx of Immorality exposing itself in the
public eye, and working feverishly to embed itself in society and become
commonplace.
2. A population made up of a weighty majority of Christians, wishing to live in
a place where it was safe to send their young people to theaters.
3. A collective indignation toward the "evil" spreading like cancer in
their society and claiming the lives and opinions of its youth.
4. A workforce of people out of work, struggling to survive, and seeing an elite
class hoarding most of the collective wealth.
5. An indisputable majority of the people boiling over current affairs, a
ticking time bomb, waiting for its fuse. (Adolph Hitler was that fuse.)
But, as we all
know, after coming to power, no, into indisputable power, Hitler morphed into an
entirely different creature. Ironically, his campaign of death began with
"A War on Terror". Here is the mentality that comes from the arrogance
of control, and the need to manipulate masses of people to fight for your
agenda...
"Only in the steady and constant application of force
lies the very first prerequisite for success. This persistence, however,
can always and only arise from a definite spiritual conviction. Any violence
which does not spring from a firm, spiritual base, will be wavering and
uncertain."
[Adolph Hitler, Mein Kampf, Vol. 1, Chapter 5]
Man! look at that! The funny thing about these quotes, is
that they were in his most famous writings, which were done WAY before he came
to power in Germany. In fact, once in power, Hitler regretted writing Mein
Kampf...
"If I had known that I would someday become
chancellor, I would not have written Mein Kampf."
[Adolph Hitler in a speech before the Reichstag]
It seems unthinkable to compare the series of events that
transpired in Germany in the 30s to the events of any other nation or people or
time, as the world sincerely believes that we could never let something so
brutal, so atrocious, rear its ugly head in a time when we are so advanced, so
intelligent, so "in control" of our world... Right?
LOOK AT THE WORLD TODAY...
I remember when I was young and growing up in the Christian
community. I remember the late 60s and early 70s when the drug culture was the
order of the day, when open sexuality and pornography was the outrage of every
Christian church, and in every sermon, strong words were spoken against the
immorality that was "running rampant" in our society. For the
past 40 years, things have only escalated, and the frustration that exists in
the Christian community today has grown to truly epic levels. Over the course of
the last ten years especially, tokens of our Faith have been systematically
removed from public life, in the name of freedom. Prayer in schools was lost
many years earlier, statues which embrace the foundations of our faith, have
been labeled offensive, expressions of love for God have become taboo in the
American lifestyle. Pornography and the makers of such are royalty here,
millions and millions of unborn children have been killed by people unwilling to
face the consequences of their actions, and have structured their laws to enable
them to not have to. Christians are furious over these developments, and many of
the Christian leaders of the day have been speaking to these issues, as they
attempt to rally action from the masses.... to militantly, if necessary
"rise up" against these developments. The founder of the Christian
coalition...
"for domestic tranquility there must be a police
force and a system of justice capable of bringing sure and swift punishment upon
those who rebel against society."
[Pat Robertson in his book "The Secret Kingdom"]
The context of Robertson's book is a discussion on what it
will take to bring about his longed for "Christian Society". Another
quote in 1992...
"Expect
confrontations that will be not only unpleasant but at times physically bloody
... This decade will not be for the faint of heart, but the resolute.
Institutions will be plunged into wrenching change. We will be living through
one of the most tumultuous periods of human history. When it is over, I am
convinced God's people will emerge victorious. But no victory ever comes without
a battle."
How about - R. J. Rushdooney, Reconstructionist Theologian (Rutherford
Institute)...
"In
winning a nation to the gospel, the sword as well as the pen must be used."
Randall Terry, Founder of
Operation Rescue (a Christian organization)...
"I want you to just let a wave of intolerance wash
over you. I want you to let a wave of hatred wash over you. Yes, hate is good
... Our goal is a Christian nation. We have a biblical duty, we are called by
God to conquer this country. We don't want equal time. We don't want
pluralism."
And of course Jerry Fallwell, founder of the Moral Majority...
"We must fight against those radical minorities who
are trying to remove God from our textbooks, Christ from our nation. We must
take back what is rightfully ours."
These statements,
are the foundation on which what I am calling "Warfare Theology" is
based.
As I said earlier, I don't necessarily argue, or agree or disagree with these
statements here, I simply provide them in support of the purpose of this
article. I wonder if the reader can begin to see the parallels being drawn here.
If not, why don't we list them, and examine our situation...
1. A strong influx of Immorality exposing itself in the
public eye, and working feverishly to embed itself in society and become
commonplace.
2. A population made up of a weighty majority of Christians, (80%), wishing to
live in a place where it is safe to send their young people to theaters, schools
etc.
3. A collective indignation toward the "evil" spreading like cancer in
our society and claiming the lives and opinions of our youth.
4. A workforce of people out of work, struggling to survive, and seeing an elite
class hoarding most of the collective wealth, while their jobs are shipped
overseas to "slave labor".
5. An indisputable majority of the people boiling over current affairs, a
ticking time bomb, waiting for its fuse.
(do you see that these conditions are merely copied from above?)
Am I saying that George Bush is the fuse for America, as
Adolph Hitler was for Germany? What I AM saying, is that the current
state of affairs in this country is leading to an extremely dangerous course of
world events! Given the fact that the Church in America has put its
"blessing" on the acts of war "in the name of the war on
terror" that America is committing in the middle east, I believe we are
headed for a time of unspeakable sorrow. The activities of this government that
are currently taking place, are not restricted to one side of the political isle
either. Both parties in this country are overwhelmingly in favor of, for
instance, the war in Iraq. A war that the American people have now been given 4
different reasons for waging, and when it comes down to it, the average American
response when this fact is raised is.. "I don't really care why they went
into Iraq, Saddam Hussein was a brutal man, and its a good thing" Honest
readers would probably admit that they have said this, or something similar,
concerning the war in Iraq. One could argue that the invasion of Afghanistan was
in fact "the war on terror" but most people with even a reasonable
amount of awareness, do realize today that the war in Iraq is something entirely
different, but since it to seems like a "just" cause, and given the
fact that we never found Bin Laden, or admitted we did, closure seems lost in
Afghanistan, and the population seems content to lump this war in with the one
in Afghanistan, under the blanket of "The War on Terror".
I would like to
say that the forgotten lesson I mentioned earlier in this document is that the
people don't often take a hard enough look at the leaders they elect, believing
them to be Christians. This was the mistake of the Germans in the 30s, the
population was so moved by the closing of the cabaret society, they didn't stop
to read Mien Kampf, to see who Adolph Hitler really was. (see the article
Right From the Horse's Mouth, for a view of who our current leadership is!) They
happily followed his lead, turning a blind eye, as the small atrocities turned
to large ones, and fell prey to serving a brutal dictatorship, responsible for
millions of deaths in the name of "War against evil". Jesus said
"You will know them by their fruits." but when people simply refuse to
acknowledge the fruits of people they wish to trust, they will eventually be
trampled by those people. Anyone can say they are a Christian, I find it tragic
and surreal that the Christian public in America is capable of sweeping obvious
lies, deceit, and treachery under the carpet, with concepts like "We are
supposed to respect and obey our leaders" and "America is a Christian
nation". This is absurd! Since when has "who is doing it" become
the justification for deeds? Where in the bible does the word indicate
that we are to "respect and obey" leadership that opposes the
principals of our Lord?
After 9-11, some of our most basic freedoms were lost in the
Patriot Act, and I promise you, you will see more and more of the same in the
coming years. The current Administration has learned a few things from the 3rd
Reich as well, namely anyone who speaks out or against the action in Iraq, is
labeled as unpatriotic, anti-soldier, and out right un-American. This is exactly
what the 3rd Reich did with dissenters.
Our Government
now has the ability to bring one before a military tribunal, with no
representation, and execute them. Under the Patriot Act, We could be subject to
that same fate for the articles on this site, and we simply "speak
out" against what we know is wrong. Don't be deceived! There is no secret
to the fact that America has an imperialistic view of the world, and that the
leaders govern accordingly. George Bush Sr. called it like it was when he said
"Its a big idea, a New World Order." As if the American government has
some "God given" right to impose its will on the people of the world!
The Christian leadership, the christian coalition, and the religious right, have
jubilantly jumped on board that train as well, touting the "rightness"
of such thinking, there-by assuring that men who think such things will be in
power here for a long time to come. This also, will be addressed in the articles
"The Gospel of
Convenience" and "Just
Lay It Down!"
In closing I
would like to bring up some chilling facts, that make this a scary, ominous
document. first, here is a quote from Hitler...
"It is thus necessary that the individual should come
to realize that his own ego is of no importance in comparison with the existence
of his nation; that the position of the individual ego is conditioned solely by
the interests of the nation as a whole ... that above all, the unity of a
nation's spirit and will are worth far more than the freedom of the spirit and
will of an individual. .... This state of mind, which subordinates the interests
of the ego to the conservation of the community, is really the first premise for
every truly human culture .... we understand only the individual's capacity to
make sacrifices for the community, for his fellow man."
(Adolph Hitler, 1933)
And here are some from American political figures, some that
I believe we haven't heard the last of, just in case anyone thinks this
mentality is restricted to the Republican side of the political spectrum...
"Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what
you can do for your country."
John Fitzgerald Kennedy 1961
"We can't be so fixated on our desire to preserve the
rights of ordinary
Americans ..."
Bill Clinton, March 11, 1993 USA Today.
"We must stop thinking of the individual and start
thinking about what is best for society."
Hillary Clinton, also in a speech 1993
There are MANY parallels that can be drawn between the events
in Europe in the 1930s with the world today. Some of those parallels are both
chilling and ominous, and they loom large ahead. here are the ones that are most
pressing...
NAZI GERMANY...
Fortunately for the world of the 1930s, there came a greater
power, capable of bringing down the reign of terror the 3rd Reich intended to
impose on the world.. America and the allies. Today, if America transformed into
the 4th Reich, as I predict it will, there is no power in the world, nor
can there arise a power, strong enough to defeat her. If all of the military
powers of the world from Russia, to China, from Japan to the European union were
to band together against the united states in war, they would be utterly
destroyed by the American Military. Most of the world's radar systems can not
even detect the presence of a stealth bomber. Furthermore, there can no power of
such force ever again arise, because when a country begins to make steps to
obtain the same military power the Americans have, they are demonized, and
brought to bear by the United Nations, (the US's tool of convenience). In
fact, even if the United Nations chooses not to rise up, America has proven that
it will, with no regard for the will of the international community, as proven
by the war in Iraq. Readers, understand that in 1972, Russia, China, Germany,
and France would have formed a "Coalition" and posed ultimatums, and
possibly even a blockade to stop America from entering Iraq... They did not. We
have proven to the world that we are in charge, and no one stood up to disagree.
I will make the following predictions....
The current administration will
continue in 2004, as a result of its handling of another world shaking terrorist
act against America, or its perfectly timed capture of Osama Bin Laden.
The Presidency of the United States will become a position of Spiritual
Leadership, acknowledged and adhered to by the Christian Church in America, the
religious right, and the christian coalition, regardless of whether its actions
align with scripture. With Spiritual legitimacy at its side America will
continue to trample nations under its feet, in the name of establishing
"The New World Order" that George Bush Sr. named, and the "War on
Terror".
I believe the Draft, or some form of mandated service to the country will be
re-instated, before the end of 2005.
I believe the American Government will "force" the peace issue between
Israel and Palestine with internationally mandated documents, enforceable by
American occupation of the region, within the next decade.
America will be a Police state by the close of the decade, hundreds of thousands
of Americans will have no choice but military service as their occupation, as
jobs continue to disappear from this country.
When one considers the amount of documents like this one,
comparing America to Germany in the 1930s, would it be wise to consider the
possibility that these comparisons are true? In 1933, one of the German
government buildings was burned down by a "Terrorist", and he was
called exactly that, a Terrorist. After the fire, Hitler had a press conference
which the whole German media attended, in front of this building. There he, on
national television, with the destroyed building as a back drop, proclaimed the
beginning of "The War on Terror" and proclaimed that the German people
reserved the right to protect their interests at any cost. Ring a bell?
I will leave the reader to ponder these matters. I would also
invite you to read the supporting Documents on these thoughts, in our related
articles, located here...
