What Manner of
Man? 1990
The almighty Father, spoke of many kinds of men,
And he revealed in his wisdom, every thought and every trend
He spoke of men with wisdom, he promised them a land
He spoke of men without vision, who built their houses on sand.
And I wonder, What Manner of Man have I become?
Have I built my house on sand? What manner of man?
In my life as a singing preacher, I believe in his will.
When the world stops to listen, it gives my heart a thrill.
But often in times of shortcoming, when the rains vehemently fall,
I just can’t help but wonder, am I really his child at all?
I know I’m the right kind of man, and that I won’t be found on sand.
I know I’m the right kind of man, and that I won’t be found on sand.
And I wonder, What Manner of Man have I become?
Have I built my house on sand? What manner of man?
I won’t be found on Sand!!
